Birmingham, AL—April 1, 2010—Dog lovers are getting ready to celebrate Relay For Life
with their four legged loved ones by participating in the American Cancer
Society’s Bark For Life of Leeds Moody. The American Cancer Society Bark For
LifeTM is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to
raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society's fight against
cancer.
“We are so excited about our first annual Bark for Life
event in our area,” said Dr. Rachel Nelson, Bark For Life Chair. “It presents an opportunity for people to be
empowered through their canine companion partnerships and to contribute to
cancer cures through the mission of the American Cancer Society. We would like to invite everyone out to enjoy
this fun event and support a great cause.”
Bark For Life will be held on Saturday,
April 17, 2010 at the MoodyCityPark
from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The community is invited to bring their best
canine friend and join us for a fun-filled day starting with a walk, then
continuing with demonstrations, contests, games and vendors. Entry fees for
Bark for Life are $10 per person and $5 per canine. Participants can register
the day of the event starting at 8:30am.
Last year, Bark For Life canine events
were held in more than 100 locations nationwide. The actual Relay For Life event for Leeds
Moody is May 7-8, 2010 from 2pm to 2am at MoodyHigh School.
