Cleo and Ebony
Cleo (the gray kitty) wandered into our neighborhood the first of last year. Shortly afterward, she had three babies. I'm sorry to say, Cleo and Ebony are the only two left. Cleo seemed to be feral but has come around nicely.
She is a very small cat, approximately 3-4 years old. Has tested combo negative, had her rabies shot and is spayed. She is very sociable and silly and would make someone a great companion. She looks very serious in her picture, but she loves to play. When she is trying to get my attention, she leaps in the air and turns circles and chases her tail. She really wants to be with someone. I think she would adjust to living in a home very easily.
Ebony is just now one year old. She is a little more shy and independent than Cleo but is a beautiful girl and loves petting. I have to persuade her, but she cannot stop purring whenever she is petted. She loves tummy rubs and plays with my hand ever so gently. She has white on her neck and lower stomach, and her fur is a bit longer than Cleo's. She is combo negative, has her rabies shot and is spayed. She might be a little harder to convince about living inside, but I think she would make a great companion for someone.
I would love to keep both these girls, but we already have eight pets of our own (5 big dogs, 2 birds, 1 cat). We also are at the age that we do not need to adopt any younger pets. My neighbors graciously let me feed Cleo and Ebony in their yard and let the girls enjoy their swing and stay under their house. It is not an ideal situation, but my dogs are not cat-friendly, and we can not have them in our house.
It is a very stressful situation, as Cleo has gotten in our yard several times and is lucky to be alive. Please consider giving one of these girls a chance at a safe, happy life. Small adoption fee and vet references required.
