The Metro Area Disaster Response Team (MART) is a collaborative effort between the
local humane societies, Animal Control, Friends of Cats and Dogs Foundation, Alabama
Pet Registry, and the Red Cross. We are formalizing a plan that could be put into
place with volunteers to activate shelters and disseminate information to the public
in the event of terrorism or natural disaster. We are working to identify shelters
for people and animals which are in close proximity.
